Electrical Troubleshooting

Intermittent faults, dead drops, cameras that cut out at night. Metal Gear LLC troubleshoots electrical and low voltage problems methodically, finds the actual cause, and fixes it once.

Intermittent faults are the expensive kind. A camera that drops offline at 2 in the morning, a network drop that works until somebody closes a door, a device that resets under load. Swapping parts until the symptom disappears is not diagnosis, and it usually means the same call comes back in a month.

We work the problem in order: reproduce the symptom, isolate the segment, test instead of assume, and identify the actual cause before anything gets replaced. Then you get told what failed, why it failed, and what it takes to keep it from happening again.

Scope of Work

  • Systematic diagnosis of low voltage system faults
  • CCTV, access control, and network drop troubleshooting
  • Repair of failing or degraded installations
  • Clear explanation of what failed and why

How The Work Runs

  1. Reproduce

We establish exactly when and how the fault shows up. A problem you can trigger on demand is a problem you can find.

  2. Isolate

The system gets divided and tested segment by segment until the fault is cornered instead of guessed at.

  3. Test and confirm

Measurements confirm the cause before a single part is replaced, so the repair addresses the fault and not the symptom.

  4. Repair and report

The fix goes in, the system gets verified under the conditions that broke it, and you get a plain explanation of what happened.

Common Questions

You did not install our system. Will you still work on it?

Yes. A large share of troubleshooting calls are for systems installed by somebody else. We document what is actually in place as we go, which is often the first time anyone has.

What if the problem turns out to be the equipment and not the wiring?

Then that is what we tell you. The point of diagnosis is to find out which one it is before money gets spent on either.

Can you fix it without replacing the whole system?

That is the goal. Targeted repair is almost always cheaper than replacement, and we would rather find the fault than sell you a new system to bury it.
